Dual Credit and Enrollment

Waltrip High School Dual Credit and Dual Enrollment Overview

Waltrip High School offers postsecondary opportunities for students to earn both high school and college credit at the same time. Two options we offer to earn this credit are Dual Credit and Dual Enrollment.  These opportunities allow us to partner with colleges and teach the same college curriculum and with the same rigor.

Dual credit and Dual Enrollment are great ways for students to earn FREE college credit, while attending high school.  TEA defines dual credit as a system in which an eligible high school student enrolls in college course(s) and receives credit for the course(s) from both the college and high school.  Waltrip dual credit and dual enrollment courses are taught on the high school campus by Waltrip staff. We are currently offering dual credit courses in both academic and technical courses. Dual enrollment classes include only academic courses. Please see the attached handouts and links below for more clarification on the programs we offer.

We also follow the same college guidelines for registration, add, drops and grades.  Since we must register with our college partners; we must prepare for the Fall Semester, in the preceding Spring Semester. If your student is interested, please monitor this site as well as our social media pages for important paperwork and a parent informational meeting which will take place in the Spring each year.
