Entrepreneurship– Foundational Program of Study
CTE Choice Program and in conjunction with 3DE by Junior Achievement
The Entrepreneurship foundational program of study teaches CTE learners how to plan, direct, and coordinate the administrative services and operations of an organization. Through this program of study, students will learn the skills necessary to formulate policies, manage daily operations, and allocate the use of materials and human resources. This program of study will also introduce students to mathematical modeling tools and organizational evaluation methods.
Course Sequence:
9th Grade: Principles of Business, Marketing, and Financing
10th Grade: Foundations of User Experience
11th Grade: Mobile Application Development
12th Grade: Practicum in Entrepreneurship

We are the 2nd high school in Texas to Launch 3DE by Junior Achievement!
3DE by Junior Achievement makes high school more relevant, experiential, and authentically connected to the real world. It is a four-year school within Waltrip High School formed through a partnership between Houston Independent School District, Junior Achievement, and business partners in the community. In 3DE, rigorous academic courses are delivered by 3DE teachers who foster an engaging and interdisciplinary environment focused on critical thinking and driving student success.

There will be six Case Challenges this year. As an example, last year our students worked with the following companies to solve real world business problems:
- CenterPoint Energy: What are exciting and inventive ways CenterPoint Energy can attract new skilled employees?
- Quanta Services: Should Quanta Services consider making The Lazy Q Ranch a permanent home for their annual Utility Perspective Symposium?
